Guillermo Rocha, MD, FRCSC FAC

Originally from Mexico City, Mexico, Dr. Rocha is now based in Brandon, Manitoba. He obtained his Medical Degree at the Universidad Anahuac in Mexico City, followed by a research fellowship in Microvascular Surgery (Mexico City and Houston, Texas). He trained in Ophthalmology at McGill University in Montreal and has completed subspecialty training in Ocular Immunology and Inflammation (McGill University), and Cornea and External Diseases (University of South Florida, Tampa). He recently completed the Physician CEO Executive Program at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. Dr. Rocha was COS President from 2016-2018. EyeCan co-host for seasons 1-2.

Hady Saheb, MD, FRCSC

Hady Saheb, MD, MPH, FRCSC, is Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Director of the Glaucoma Fellowship at McGill University. He is also Chair of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Council and a member of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Ophthalmological Society and Canadian Glaucoma Society. He is an editor of the journal Canadian Eyecare Today. He recently completed a 50K blindfolded run challenge to feel more connected to his patients struggling with or worried about vision loss and to raise awareness and funds for glaucoma. Dr Saheb earned his medical degree and completed his residency at McGill University. He was then a glaucoma fellow at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, and subsequently completed a second fellowship in Novel Glaucoma Surgical Devices and Complex Anterior Segment Surgery at the University of Toronto. He also completed a Masters in Public Health at the Johns Hopkins University. EyeCan co-host for seasons 3 and 4.

Mona Dagher, MD, FRCSC

Dr. Dagher is based in Montreal, Quebec. She is Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Université de Montréal and head of the cornea service at Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM). Dr. Dagher is chair of the COS annual meeting and has served as Board member of COS since 2012. Dr. Dagher completed her undergraduate degree at McGill University where she received the Hilda Diana Oakley scholarship for ranking top female student at McGill. She then completed her medical degree and specialization in ophthalmology at Université de Montréal, graduating on the dean’s honour list. Dr. Dagher then pursued post-doctoral fellowship training in cornea, external eye diseases, and refractive surgery at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School. EyeCan co-host for season 3 and 4.

Setareh Ziai, MD, FRCSC

Dr. Ziai is based in Ottawa, Ontario. Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Ottawa Eye Institute. She completed her undergraduate medical training at the University of Ottawa, followed by residency training in ophthalmology at the University of Ottawa Eye Institute. She has completed two years of fellowship training in cornea, external disease, anterior segment and refractive surgery. Her practice encompasses tertiary care clinical and surgical ophthalmology, with a focus on ocular surface disease, corneal transplantation, ocular tumour resection, anterior segment reconstruction and complex cataract surgery. She is heavily involved in clinical research, resident and surgical fellow training, as well as with the ophthalmic medical technology training program at the University of Ottawa Eye Institute. Dr. Ziai is a COS board member, and Resident and Young Ophthalmologist Affairs Liaison. EyeCan co-host for seasons 1-2.
